Shopping With The Shield is a program which provides a unique shopping experience for families struggling financially throughout the year.

Members of the Unified Police Department help fund the program with their own donations which allows the office members to have an exemption to the grooming standards. In other words, the men get to grow a beard and the women are allowed to dye the tips of their hair and decorate their fingernails.

The funds are then used to take approximately 50 children and their parents (15+ families) Christmas shopping with their local Unified Police Department Officers along with our civilian staff members.

Shopping with the Shield is in its sixth year and going strong. Our office members ask about the program throughout the year. The families we are able to serve along with our office members have an experience they will always remember and cherish.
